Stan Abrams, MD

Medical Consultant – VenomX

Canadian, turned American, Stan Abrams comes to us via Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Even though he has lived most of his life in the USA, he remains fiercely loyal to traditional Canadian values such as winter sports and ice hockey!

Immediately upon graduation from college in 1958, he was drafted into the army and trained as a medical laboratory technologist. He served as the Chief Medical Technologist on the maiden voyage of Project Hope in Indonesia and Vietnam.

After working as a medical technologist and bio-analyst for several years he married the love of his life, Jann Blue in 1963. He was working on his master’s degree in physiology with the intent of going to NASA to work on the space program. NASA had asked him to transfer to Rice University to continue his graduate studies but ultimately, he declined because he had already spent time in Texas during his Army training. Instead he was accepted into a PhD program at Berkeley in Northern California.

Right before starting his PhD program he and his wife serendipitously met up with several of his college classmates who were in medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico. They encouraged him to visit them in Mexico. While Stan and Jann were visiting their friends in Mexico he met the dean of the medical school, who encouraged Stan to apply for medical school and not go forward with the PhD program. Within weeks, Stan had started medical school in Guadalajara Mexico (at that time he was too old to apply to medical schools in the USA). He graduated in 1973 and did a residency in family practice in Amarillo Texas, at Texas Tech. He had a Family Practice for many years but ended his career working as an ER doc in the Fort Worth, Texas area. During his medical career he also found time to do short stints for Holland America Cruise Lines as their on-board physician where he spent summers in Alaska and winters in the Caribbean.

Dr. Abrams retired in 1999 and has since completed extensive training in darkfield microscopy and diagnosing blood-related medical conditions such as Lyme Disease. In addition to specialized training early in his retirement, he uses this knowledge to diagnose and treat patients from his home base.

During his retirement, Dr. Abrams continues to explore the emerging field of Energy (quantum) Medicine where he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in this discipline. As part of his journey in energy medicine, he got involved with Cliff Mackey who owned the original patent on the “Snake Doctor” device used to treat venomous bites and stings in the 1980s and 1990s. From his home base, Dr. Abrams has treated venomous bites and stings using this device since the 1990s and has successfully treated almost 400 patients.

He is now one of the patent owners of an updated version of the “Snake Doctor” known as the Venom Desensitizer or VenomX. He now serves as the Medical Consultant for VenomX.
